Dr Gagandeep Sharma
Principal Supervisor

Dr Gagandeep Sharma has been working as a GP in Queensland since 2012 and became our principal GP in 2020. The practice has been a training centre for GPs for many years with Dr Sharma, our principal supervisor, providing education and support for our Registrars. Having completed both an Advanced Cert in Dermatology and Diploma, Dr Sharma has a keen interest in dermatology and skin cancer treatment, in addition to paediatrics. Dr Sharma prescribes medical cannabis / CBD and spends time each week caring for the needs of the elderly, in nearby residential aged care facilities. Dr Sharma is an accredited Yellow Fever vaccine provider. In his spare time, you’ll find him playing cricket, cycling or watching documentaries. Dr Sharma is taking new patients.

Dr Tim Kenny
GP

UK trained, Dr Kenny has been a well respected GP in Australia since 1992 and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Rural and Remote Medicine. He has been a Medical Superintendent at Julia Creek Hospital, worked single handed remotely, supported multi-generational families in the bush and medical students through their training journey. Tim has been a GP on the Sunshine Coast since 1999 and has extensive experience in all things General Practice. His interests are holistic healthcare, nutritional and environmental medicine, helping patients to improve their health and well-being through diet and lifestyle. He keenly manages acute and chronic disease across the age range, has a Diploma in Child Health, and interest in paediatric health. Dr Kenny’s wide experience in the UK, Germany, South Africa and rural Australia have offered him the chance to meet some interesting characters! Tim is married to Holly and has two adult children. He is a keen sailor and runner and is excited to be back working once more at North Shore Medical Centre. Dr Kenny has closed his patient list and is not currently taking new patients.

Dr Sarah Burgess

Canadian born Dr Sarah Burgess completed her nursing degree in 2008 and medical degree in Queensland in 2012. Sarah has worked in a number of specialties on the Sunshine Coast in the hospital system which reinforced her desire to specialise in the diverse field of General Practice. Sarah loves all aspects of medicine and care throughout the whole lifespan. Her particular interests include women’s health, paediatrics, preventative health and wellness, and dermatology. Having completed a Certificate in Dermoscopy Sarah also has an interest in skin cancer diagnosis and management. When she is not at work Sarah enjoys all things outdoors. Outside of her work commitments, raising three little humans brings her joy and she loves going for walks and exploring the natural environment with friends and family. Dr Burgess has closed her patient list and is not currently taking new patients.

Dr Bhargavi Kanuru

We are delighted to welcome Dr Kanuru MD DCH FRACGP to the team. Bhargavi qualified as a medical doctor in 2006. Additionally, she has a Diploma in Child Health through Westmead Childrens Hospital, NSW. Dr Kanuru has interests in all aspects of General Practice including women’s and child health, chronic disease management. Dr Kanuru is currently taking new patients.

Dr Maureen Fitzsimon

After many years working as a practice owner, clinical teacher, and GP in Logan, Maureen has moved to the Sunshine Coast, near her extended family. The variety, and personal nature of the work, attracted her to general practice. Maureen has a broad range of clinical interests, including women’s health, men’s health, mental health, diabetes, geriatrics, paediatrics, and many other areas of medicine. Maureen is an accredited provider of Yellow Fever vaccinations and has an interest in travel medicine. In her spare time, Maureen enjoys gardening, walking, Zumba, cooking, travel, and playing with her grandchildren. Dr Fitzsimon has closed her patient list and is not currently taking new patients.

Dr Brooke Mason

Dr Mason is currently away travelling. we expect her return late 2025.

Dr Anthony Reynolds
GP
Anthony joins the team as a registrar. He has a history of working across multiple surgical specialties and retains a keen interest in surgical procedures particularly skin cancer surgery. He is working through a master’s degree in skin cancer medicine. He is interested in all aspects of general practice but has particular interests in men’s health and preventative medicine. Outside of medicine he enjoys sports and time with his family. Dr Reynolds is taking new patients.

Dr Johannes Berggren
GP
After growing up in northern Sweden, Joe moved to Australia in 2009, he completed his medical degree at the Australian National University in Canberra 2020. He spent his resident years working in a variety of specialties in Canberra and on the Sunshine Coast. He is interested in all aspects of general practice. Joe lives with his partner and enjoys traveling and playing soccer in his free time.

Siobhan Makin
Practice Manager & Lead RN
UK trained, Siobhan has worked at NSMC for 13yrs, with extensive experience in day surgery and as a Primary Care Nurse on the Sunshine Coast spanning 20yrs. Her special areas of interest are creating a positive learning and workplace culture, chronic disease management, disease prevention, mental health and family support. Siobhan also has a business background in HR, finance and property. In her free time, Siobhan enjoys pottery, spending time with family & friends, camping weekends and exploring what Australia has to offer.

Jodie Godden
SENIOR RN
UK trained, Jodie has been with NSMC for 6yrs. Jodie came to Primary Care from District Nursing and is a great asset to our team. Jodie brings her bright and caring nature to the Treatment Room. Her special areas of interest are chronic disease management, Care Planning, immunisations, childhood conditions and wound care. In her free time, Jodie enjoys spending time with her family in the hinterland, camping, outdoor activities and catching up with friends.

Wendy Gordon
EN
Sunshine Coast trained Wiradjuri woman, Wendy joined NSMC in 2022 from Aged Care. Wendy brings her vibrant and caring personality to everything she does and has embraced our busy practice to become a part of our team. Wendy is enjoying learning about all aspects of Primary Care and developing her practice. Wendy is part way through her University course to become an RN. In her free time, Wendy enjoys going to the beach, shopping and family activities.

Mel
RN
Mel is an experienced RN and Certified Independent Nurse Immuniser, graduated from University of Southern Queensland. Mel grew up in a small country town and moved to the Sunshine Coast and NSMC 4yrs ago after graduation. Mel is experienced with infusions, immunisations, wound care and all aspects of primary care and imaging nursing. Outside of work, Mel has a busy life with her young family and plays touch football, enjoying beach days and holidays with her 4 boys.
